Become an Apostille Agent Partner with Sevantay

Bangalore has growing demand for MEA apostille and embassy attestation services from students going abroad, IT professionals migrating overseas, and NRIs needing Indian documents authenticated. Sevantay routes that demand to verified apostille agents.

The opportunity

Apostille and document attestation work in Bangalore has structurally grown over the last decade and shows no sign of slowing. Three customer streams drive it: students going abroad — every educational document (SSLC, PUC, degree, transcripts) needs HRD attestation followed by MEA apostille for Hague Convention countries, or full embassy attestation for non-Hague countries. Bangalore sends thousands of students to the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Germany every year. IT professionals migrating — degree attestation, marriage certificate attestation, birth certificate apostille for spouse and dependent visas. NRIs needing Indian documents authenticated — birth certificates for foreign citizenship applications, marriage certificates for spousal sponsorship, commercial documents for cross-border business.

The work is genuinely specialised. Most one-off agents fumble the process — getting the wrong attestation chain, missing the SDM step, or routing the document to the wrong Branch Secretariat. Customers learn quickly that this is not a service to gamble with. They actively seek experienced agents who have done it before. That makes apostille a high-value referral category — Sevantay-routed customers come pre-qualified with clear intent and willingness to pay for reliability.

If you operate an apostille or attestation service in Bangalore, with verified MEA process knowledge and a working network of HRD/SDM/notary support, Sevantay is a strong addition to your customer pipeline.

Commercial model

Current default: ₹250 platform fee per attested document (Hague apostille); ₹400 per document for non-Hague embassy attestations given the longer process. The customer pays a single bundled quote that includes your service charge, the platform fee, and pass-through government fees (HRD attestation fee, MEA fee, embassy attestation fee — these never enter the commission calculation). Settlement on completion of attestation, typically within 7 days of customer confirmation.

What we will not do: charge you any joining fee, charge for unconverted leads, or charge a subscription. We earn only when you successfully deliver work.

Onboarding requirements

Before you apply, please confirm you meet these baseline requirements.

Process expertise

Working knowledge of the full MEA apostille process via the Branch Secretariats (CPV Division, MEA), including the pre-step state HRD attestation for educational documents, SDM attestation for personal documents, and notary attestation where applicable. Familiarity with both Hague Convention apostille and non-Hague embassy attestation chains.

Experience

Minimum 2 years in apostille or document attestation work, with at least 100 successfully attested documents to your credit. We will ask for sample acknowledgements during onboarding.

State pre-attestation network

Working access to Karnataka HRD attestation (for educational documents) and SDM attestation (for personal documents). If you operate without a state-level network, you should be honest about that during application — we may still onboard you but limit the document types we route to you.

Embassy network (where applicable)

If you handle non-Hague country attestations (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, China, etc.), confirm which embassies you have working processes with. We will route based on this.

Turnaround commitment

Realistic apostille timeline is 7–15 working days end to end for Hague countries; 15–30 days for non-Hague. We expect you to commit to ranges, not promises of impossibly fast turnarounds.

Office or workspace

A working address in Bangalore where customers can drop off documents. Pickup-delivery service capability within Bangalore is strongly preferred and a customer-acquisition advantage.

Identity, address, and business proof

Aadhaar, PAN, GST registration (preferred), proof of business address.

Insurance or document liability awareness

You will be handling original documents — birth certificates, marriage certificates, degrees. We expect process discipline (logged custody, signed acknowledgements, secure storage). Document insurance is not mandatory but recommended.

What is expected of the partner

Honest timelines

Apostille work has structural delays we cannot control — Branch Secretariat queues, embassy processing times, HRD verification windows. We do not expect you to hide these from customers. We expect realistic estimates, proactive updates when timelines shift, and zero false promises.

Custody discipline

Original documents are irreplaceable for many customers. Logged pickup, signed acknowledgement, secure storage, and signed delivery on return is a non-negotiable process standard. Sevantay will not tolerate document loss; partners who lose customer documents are immediately reviewed.

Customer communication

You speak to the customer as a Sevantay-affiliated apostille agent. Sevantay-trained tone: professional, transparent about timelines, no over-promising. Specifically: do not promise a 3-day apostille when you know it is structurally a 10-day process.

Accurate documentation

Every document gets a clear paper trail — pickup receipt, HRD/SDM acknowledgement, MEA acknowledgement, final apostille/attestation, delivery receipt.

Transparent pricing

Whatever pricing you commit to during onboarding holds for at least 90 days. No mid-process upcharges. Government fees are pass-through and shown to the customer separately.

Non-exclusive, quality-bound

You can take direct customers. Sevantay-routed customers must get the same quality and turnaround as your own customers.

Quarterly review

Quarterly review of delivery quality, customer feedback, and process discipline.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to handle every country, or can I specialise?

You can specialise. Some partners only handle Hague Convention apostilles and pass on non-Hague work. Others have strong embassy networks for specific countries (UAE, Saudi, Qatar) and prefer to specialise there. Tell us your coverage during onboarding and we route accordingly.

What if a customer's document gets stuck at HRD or MEA?

Government queue delays are part of the territory and customers know this if they have done their research. Sevantay's customer-facing team handles communication during structural delays. You handle the technical follow-up. We do not penalise partners for delays caused by HRD or MEA processing times themselves.

Do I need to be physically near the Bangalore Branch Secretariat?

Helpful but not mandatory. The MEA Branch Secretariat for South India is in Bengaluru, which is a structural advantage for Bangalore-based agents over agents in cities that have to courier to Delhi or Mumbai. If you have a runner or your own visit pattern to the Branch Secretariat, that is a plus.

Do I need GST registration?

Strongly preferred for apostille work because customers (especially corporate or NRI customers) often need a GST invoice for reimbursement claims. Individual consultants can apply without GST, but we may limit corporate-customer routing to GST-registered partners.

Are commercial document apostilles in scope?

Yes. Power of attorney, affidavits, board resolutions, commercial invoices, and similar documents are part of the routing pool. Tell us during onboarding if you handle commercial documents and at what volume.

What happens if a customer wants a refund mid-process?

Refund policy is set per-job at the start. Pre-HRD: customer can typically get a partial refund. Post-HRD or post-MEA: refunds are not generally available because the government fee is non-refundable and your work is already done. Sevantay's escalation team helps adjudicate disputed cases.

Can I take the customer offline and bypass Sevantay?

For Sevantay-routed customers, we ask that engagement runs through Sevantay's process. This protects you (platform escalation if anything goes wrong) and us (so we can support the customer). Repeated bypassing is grounds for pausing the partnership.

Do I have to support student bulk requests (5+ documents at once)?

Student bulk requests are common and welcome. Many students need their entire educational record (SSLC + PUC + degree + transcripts + character certificate) attested simultaneously before a visa application. Bulk-handling capacity is a plus and we may route higher-value bulk requests to partners who can handle them.

Do I need to support Kannada-speaking customers?

Helpful but not mandatory. Initial customer interaction is handled by Sevantay's team. Most Bangalore apostille customers are comfortable in English, but Kannada conversational ability is a plus for older NRI customers and family members.
